Direct debit is the “set and forget” way to pay regular bills. It is most often used for ongoing payments like mortgage repayments, insurance premiums and utility bills, but can also be used for one-off payments. Amounts can be fixed, for example for loan repayments, or can vary with each payment for example for mobile phone bills or utility bills.
You can organize and prearrange a regular payment from your nominated account to a nominated recipient at regular intervals. Amounts can be fixed or can vary.
To start paying by direct debit, you simply need to complete the biller organisation’s Direct Debit Request authority form. From then on payments will be deducted automatically from your account.

- BSB: 803-209
- Account number
- Account Name
- Utility bills
- Insurance payments
- Credit card monthly repayments
- Loan repayments
- Charitable donations

Direct credit is widely used by businesses to make regular, low value payments into transaction accounts. Common examples are salary payments, payments by government departments such as Centrelink benefits, and dividends and interest payments. You can have these funds ( i.e. salary, dividends etc ) directly credited to your account via the Direct Credit system by quoting our BSB 803-209 and your account number and account name . Examples include:
- Tax refund
- Share Dividends
Providing this information to the payee ie your employer, will allow them to make payment in this fashion. Once the regular credit commences, you can allocate portions of your of direct credit to go into different accounts by contacting us on 03 8417 1777 or 1300 366 350. Quick Debit is an electronic direct debiting facility, which provides access to all financial institution accounts. Members simply complete a Direct Debit Authority, which authorises Firefighters Credit Co-operative to debit the members account held at another financial institution and arrange payment ( whether regular or on an ad hoc basis) directly to their account at Firefighters Credit Co-operative.
This can be arranged to happen on a regular basis to make loan repayment, etc or as a "once-off" to meet any special need.
This service is FREE OF CHARGE.
Complete a Direct Debit Authority (refer Forms) and return to us for processing with the following details:
- Other financial institution BSB (Bank/State/Branch) number
- Account number (at other financial institution)
- Name of Account (at other financial institution)
- Account to be credited (FCCL account)
